Sinfony Composite from 3M ESPE is the
most versatile restorative system on
the market today. It has proven to be a
successful choice for crown & bridge,
laminates, inlays, onlays and implant
restorations. Sinfony is a micro hybrid
composite material. It is a Bis
GMA/TEDGMA free, multifunctional
resin matrix with a strontium glass filler.
Sinfony is more wear-resistant than
conventional composites but less
wear-resistant than ceramic restorations.
It will not fracture like porcelain and will
not wear opposing dentition, yet it is
extremely tough. Sinfony can be easily
added to and repaired inter– orally.
Polishing in the mouth is simpler
compared with porcelain which loses
its glaze when adjusted; Sinfony will
regain its original luster.
Esthetics can easily be attained using
the wide range of shades, stains and
modifiers available to the Sinfony system.
It has excellent translucency and is stain
resistant. Anatomy, contour and occlusion
are very natural-looking. The fit to the margin
on the die and tooth is excellent and equal
to a cast coping. Inlay and onlay
restorations just seem to blend with
the natural dentition in the mouth
Many implant frames covered with porcelain
have a high degree of fracture due to the
stresses caused by the weight mass of
the metal and torque of the frame.
Sinfony is ideal for implant restorations
since it has such high metal bond strengths
and is less brittle and prone to cracking
than porcelain. It is compatible with all types
of dental alloys and can be used for
virtually any restoration.
