OUR FACULTY

Institute Director
Steven Pigliacelli has more than 25 years experience with Marotta
Dental Studio and dental implants. He was certified in the Branemark
System in1984, 3-I/Implant Innovations 1987, Integral Implant
1987,Steri-oss 1988,Core-Vent Implant Prosthodontics 1988, Interpore
IMZ 1989, Astra Implant 1989, Impla-med Implants 1989 and Strauman
ITI Implant System Scientific Training 1991 He is a Certified
Dental Technician with the National Board for Certification.
He is the technical liaison between the dentist and the laboratory
for case planning, telephone support and quality control. He
lectures and performs hands-on demonstrations at study clubs
and seminars.
Diplomate American Board of Periodontology
Director of Clinical Education
Dr. Kopman received his D.D.S. from the State University of
New York, Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. He then received
a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Periodontology and
a Master of Medical Sciences in Oral Biology from the Harvard
School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation from Harvard, Dr.
Kopman was a finalist in the Baliant Orban Research Competition
for his research on the effect of diabetes on wound healing
around dental implants and received the Gerald M. Kramer Scholarship
for excellence from the Academy of Periodontology, which is
awarded to a single graduate in Periodontics nationally, who
demonstrated academic and clinical excellence. Dr. Kopman has
presented both his research and clinical endeavors at numerous
symposia and has coauthored publications in the American Academy
of Periodontology- Annals of Periodontology and the Journal
of Periodontology. Dr. Kopman formerly taught as a clinical
instructor at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and was
an attending resident at Children’s Hospital in Boston.
Dr. Kopman is currently Chairman of The Next Generation Dental
Study Club and President of the Long Island Academy of Periodontology.

Director of Clinical Research and Engineering
Leonard Marotta is a clinical associate professor in the Division
of Restorative and Prosthodontic Sciences and in the Advanced
Education Program in the Department of Implant Dentistry, the
Department of Biomaterials and Biometics at New York University
College of Dentistry. He is the Director of Clinical Engineering
and Biomedical Technology at the School of Engineering Technologies
at the Farmingdale State University of New York. He is a Certified
Dental Technician with the National Board for Certification.
He is a Master of Dental Technology with A.S.M.D.T. and is a
Technical Fellow with the Northeastern Gnathological Society.
He lectures extensively on dental and medical engineering and
osseointegration at hospitals, universities, study clubs, dental
organizations, implant manufacturers, sponsored seminars and
professional dental societies.
INTRODUCTION:
This STUDY CLUB is an attempt to take advantage of the combined knowledge and
experience of our group and share the knowledge and experience among us.

We will attempt to have specialists divided up between the tables
One or two cases will be discussed
Models will be available at each table
Radiographs will be available at each table

After time for review and discussion, one person from each table will present to the
group the findings and recommended course of treatment
