Description:
Why should I be involved in implant dentistry? Will I place and restore implants myself or work with a team of dentists? What training do I need? How can I present cases, both complex and simple, to patients and get them to say YES? How much do I charge for an implant case? Can I get insurance companies to pay for implant care? How do I chose an implant system? What restorative options are there? What should I look for when chosing a lab?
These and other questions are commonly asked by new practitioners. We invite you to learn from the successes and mistakes of two recent graduates in a candid, informal setting. You'll hear practical tips about diagnosis, treatment planning, presentation, execution, and managing the business side of implant dentistry.

Program Description:
The esthetic demands of restorative dentistry are increasing, as patients seek to obtain natural-looking replacement teeth. Predictable treatment success in the esthetic zone for patients with advanced and complex needs depends on comprehensive assessment and planning, the quality of the implant site and tissue response, and selection of appropriate implants and components. this program will review recent advances in CADCAM technology as well as bone level versus tissue level implants. Participants will learn the differences between zirconia, gold, titanium, and all-ceramic restorations, and how each may be beneficial depending upon a particular patient's case. Participants will review the philosophy behind single-stage and two-stage implant procedures; both treatment options can provide patients additional benefits when compared with traditional crown and bridge. this program will provide an overview of the benefits of dental implants from a patient and a clinical practice perspective, and review how advances in surface technology may help accelerate overall treatment time. the use of three dimensional scans will also be discussed.
Program Objectives :
Upon completion of this program the participant will be able to:
- Recognize and learn how to incorporate recent technological advances in dental technology
- Understand the benefits of dental implants from a patient perspective
- Identify the differences in design techniques for implant-supported restorations and crown and bridge dentistry
- Understand the differences in treatment planning and sequencing when placing an implant at the tissue or bone level
- Identify appropriate impression and final restoration components to produce predictable esthetic implant restorations
- Develop a treatment plan for fixed and removable implant prosthetics that demonstrates the benefits of implant-retained overdentures versus conventional crown and bridge dentistry
- Recognize the benefits that provisional restorations can provide in soft tissue management
